Innovation och sustainability

To address the overuse of fossil fuel-based plastics, IFG has implemented a core strategy to develop an industry-leading range of more sustainable plant-based staple fiber solutions. For several years, IFG has had a long-term partnership with Maastricht University in the Netherlands. The purpose of the collaboration is to develop new fibers that meet future requirements in terms of performance and sustainability aspects, such as biodegradability and recyclability. Additionally, IFG is involved in several customer and international projects focusing on sustainable product solutions. IFG has raised the stringent performance requirements achieved by polypropylene, polyamide, and polyethylene and has invested heavily in research and development of a new generation of alternative renewable plant-based fibers. These fibers meet and can exceed the market's tough demands while addressing the challenges and complexities associated with biopolymers. IFG can deliver a market-leading range of biopolymer-based fibers, including PLA and BPS.
