Duroc acquires Universal Power Nordic

– a leading supplier of engines for industrial and marine applications

Universal Power Nordic (UPN), with operations in Sweden and Norway, is a leading supplier of diesel engines for industrial and marine applications. The company also offers service, replacement parts and technical support to the market. Product offerings include strong brands such as Perkins, Kubota, Kohler and Lombardini.

The company, which in 2017 had revenue of MSEK 130 and an operating profit of MSEK 6, has 40 employees in Sweden and Norway. The company is headquartered in Skänninge, Sweden, where the company also maintains a spare parts warehouse and a shop for rebuilding engines, testing, service and special adaptations based on customer needs.

Customers are found in several segments, such as construction, farming, forest industry, power generation and marine industries.

”We are happy to add UPN to our business area Industrial Trading. UPN is one of Perkins’ oldest independent distributors globally. There are major similarities between existing businesses and UPN in how customer benefits are created”, says John Häger, President of Duroc.

This acquisition strengthens the level of profitability in Duroc’s business area Industrial Trading, which including UPN will approach annual revenue of MSEK 500. The acquisition is subject to formal approval by one of the suppliers and is expected to be finalised on 2 July 2018, provided that the terms of the agreement have then been met.
